Selling my well-maintained Cooper S. It has a massive amount of expensive preventative maintenance already completed since owning it.
THE BEST POINTS:
Major Mechanicals Done: Brand new timing chain & guides, top-end engine rebuild (with all new relevant gaskets), and a new clutch.Recent Parts: New battery (fitted earlier this year for £105), new thermostat housing, new water pump, and N/S/F wheel bearing.Condition: Full leather seats, electric sunroof, bodywork in great condition for its age, and good tyres all round.THE BAD POINTS (Why it’s a project):
The Limp Mode: The car starts, runs, and idles fine, but frequently drops into limp mode when driving. A local Mini specialist has diagnosed this as the common R56 High-Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) / fuel issue. Because I have already spent so much on the car recently, I cannot justify the cost of the pump replacement.Locking: The central locking opens the car, but you have to lock it manually with the key. The boot handle is temperamental and requires the key to lock. Will need to be towed.
